Yesterday afternoon we had a great meeting with one of our newest residential clients from the beautiful hills in South Dakota. We were commissioned a few months ago to design a mid-century modern addition beneath an existing "tree house type" residence near Rapid Creek as well as new 3 car garage with gym above. We're so excited about this project and its potential.
Monday Night F9 Productions made its radio début on AM 1060 Denver. At 6:00 PM Alex was the first guest on the Manistreet Radio show, “Monday Nights with the Mayor “ Alex talked with the host Dwight Jackson and the Mayor Bryan Baum about what Longmont brings to businesses and then discussed what F9 Productions brings to businesses.
F9 released its new featured project "Flood House" See the featured tab for more information.
Hey everybody we just posted one of our residential projects that is currently in the design development phase. Check it out the Breckenridge Vacation Home in the "on-the-boards" section for imagery. We're really excited about this modest vacation home. It's clean, modern, and best of all earth friendly since were reusing the existing foundation and Colorado pine-beetle-kill ship-lap siding. More to come as we progress until then here's a sneak peak:
Earlier this month Lance attended an awesome and free “blogging” seminar here in Longmont hosted by the Library with Beth Hayden of, www.bloggingwithbeth.com. Beth is a social media expert, blogger, internet junkie, and all-around geek living in Colorado. She thinks blogs are one of the greatest trends in technology the world has ever seen and we couldn’t agree more! Since that seminar we have begun trying to blog at least several times per week and about everything from new business ventures to our budding vegetable garden on 11th avenue here in Longmont.
If your interested in learning more about blogging check out some of the other links on Beth’s webpage. Here are a few of my favorites:
Cheers and stay posted for more and more posts here on the F9 Blog!
F9 Productions just returned from a fruitful business trip to North Dakota. While the team tirelessly peruses opportunities they find time to have a little fun. Lance’s brother Luke guided us on a paddlefishing trip, and when Alex was unsuccessfully trying to snag a paddlefish he nabbed a carp.
The day I graduated college I realized that I had nothing to do until my internship in New York later in the summer so I came up with the idea of reading ten books in ten days. I did not accomplish this goal, but I did come close by reading 12 books in 15 or so days. Of those twelve: Kindergarten Chats, and The Old Way of Seeing became two of my favorite architecture books. Of the dozen or so architecture books I have read 5 have seemed to stand the test of time. They are as follows:
1) The Old Way of Seeing – Jonathan Hale
2) The Buckminster Fuller Reader
3) Kindergarten Chats – Louis Sullivan
4) Meta City Data Town - MVRDV
5) Towards a New Architecture - Le Corbusier
If you get the chance, be sure to peruse these great books.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
